A little behind, here's numbers 6 through 10 of what I'm thankful for this year:
6. My Kindle. Ug. I
hate even typing that. I didn't want a Kindle. I'm a traditionalist. I
like real books. I like holding them in my hand. I like how they smell.
But, damn, Kindles are convenient!
7. Tiffany Sue. You
know that phrase about loving someone unconditionally? She loves me that
way. And I don't get it. I'm not perfect - far from it - and I go
stretches without keeping in touch and I am becoming forgetful in my old
age, but for some reason, she sticks around. I'm blessed with a lot of
great friends, but few would go to the ends of the earth for me. She
would and I don't know how to thank her for that.
8. Easy-to-open windows, sliding glass doors and a window above my kitchen sink. Our new house is much newer than our old house. About 80 years newer, I think. That means my windows work! I can open them! I can let the breeze in! I can listen to the crickets at night! I can also see a good portion of our backyard out the sliding glass door in our dining room and 'watch the trees dance' out the window above our kitchen sink (although, if I'm being honest, I don't wash dishes that often). I love these little luxuries!
9. Pinterest. For someone who loves crafts and the idea (!) of cooking delicious meals and desserts, Pinterest is close to heaven! Until this year, I never knew I could make such colorful cupcakes:
or that I wanted this in my backyard:
10. Time to make things. I haven't been keeping hard numbers, but I'm pretty sure I've made more things this year than I've made in ages. A clock. A bracelet. Cards. Bookmarks. Post-it note holders. Cookies. An apron. The list goes on. I'm so grateful that I have time to 'waste' on making pretty things.
