Grammar Post #2

I didn't mean to have two grammar posts back to back, but there's nothing I can do about it now. Except maybe write a silly post in between, but that would require thinking and since it's my Friday and I get a 5-day weekend, I'm just going to run two grammar posts back to back so I can go home.

Loved this NPR article today about the Oxford comma. As a student of AP Style, I don't use it - even in my personal writing - but I enjoyed this article nonetheless. Holmes is funny. I love her writing style. And, sadly, I love comma debates.

Sadly, I'm the world's worst at knowing when and when not to use commas. My teachers used to say my papers were riddled with comma splice. Not even sure what that means! But I did enjoy the Let's eat, Grandpa. :)

Sadly most young people would not get the difference in those two statements. First went spelling, then grammer and now cursive writting. Unfortunately computers, email and texting have made it all go away. Kids no longer see the reason for any of it.
