For a year or so, I've been writing down things I'm thankful for. It's so easy to get caught up in the stress of work or the challenges that come with being a parent that I was missing the good stuff. It was there, I just didn't have the time to acknowledge it.
I'm going to share some of the things I'm most thankful for during November. I'm going to try to be a little more specific than 'my husband' or 'food', but if I'm not, oh well. Let's get started.
I'm thankful for my husband's sense of humor, his silliness, his ability to laugh at himself and with me. Of course, I love him for a zillion other reasons, but this trait is one of his best. He's never self-conscious or stuffy. He hardly ever gets mad; he's about the most easy-going person I know. And I need that. Me with my lists and schedules and plans. I need someone to occasionally throw all that crap in the trash and make me do something on a whim, live for the moment. Even if it's laying on the couch and watching football.
