I'm Too Excited to Work

I'm crafty. Not in the I 'get around' sort of way that the Beastie Boys sing about, but in the 'I love to make things' sort of way. And it's been far too long since I've made anything.

Last Wednesday, I reminisced about the days when scrapbook crops were all the rage. I used to love spending my Friday nights working on my pages, listening to women I didn't know complain about kids or husbands or friends I didn't know while eating peanut M&Ms.

But ever since the local scrapbook stores closed, it's nearly impossible to find a crop. If I'm at home, there are a million things I could and should be doing instead of scrapping, so my books got shoved on a shelf and my supplies got boxed and put into a cabinet.

Then, wham! Out of the blue, that very same day that I was remembering the good old days, I saw an invitation to a crop at my son's child care. It's this Friday. And I intend to be there.

I LOVE to scrapbook but I think I need a whole other room in our house because there is just so much stuff I get out just to scrapbook!

Um, I feel silly for asking but what is a crop?!

All the local scrapbook stores closed?!?! Seriously?!

Oh, J.! Crops are awesome.

Crops are when a bunch of people get together to work on their scrapbooks or other crafty projects. Depending on who is hosting the crop, there is usually food and games and music and conversation.

People usually let you borrow their stuff, so if you want to try a new product, you can. People also usually like to show off their stuff, so you can steal ideas, too.

Ky, it sucks. The four local stores that were around when I first moved to T-town are all closed. So is the one just into Michigan on Stearns near Secor. :-(

Amber - Oh my gosh - that's awful? (I loved scrapbooking before we moved to Mexico...)

I'm in shock.

Have fun at the crop this Friday. How awesome!
