The Price is Right

Does anyone know what the going rate for a babysitter is?

Babysitter in question is a college girl majoring in early childhood education. She's the real deal. Sweet and smart as can be and BB loves her.

If all goes right, she'll be watching BB Saturday while Billy and I go on our first date since he was born. (Yep, our first date - two days shy of BB's 11-month birthday. Yay, us!)

$5-$10 per hour, depending on what the responsibilities are. For example, sitting and watching TV while the baby sleeps vs bathing, putting to bed, etc.

We usually pay around $10/hr but that's for two kids. However, when I was in college, I "nannied" for $9/hr. That included picking them up from school, laundry, cooking, etc so....

Maybe tell her that you were thinking something in XXX range (whatever you eventually decide) and make sure it's ok with her.
