I've Been Screened

I was in a chit-chatty mood yesterday, which is something I have to take advantage of since developing a hatred for the telephone, so I started calling people I haven't talked to in awhile.

Instead of some good old-fashioned catching up, I got a bunch of voicemail. (Yeah, I'm talking to you L., S., D., S., N., J.). Granted a few people called me back, so the day wasn't a totally waste, but it was kinda sad going through the list and getting denied after every 5th ring. (In case you were wondering, that's how long it takes most people's voicemail to pick up.)

I would have answered my phone, but I guess I'm not on your cool phone list. :(

Oh yes, one of those days! I remember a few weeks back I really needed to vent so I tried calling several people. Four of them were at work so I didn't want to call them (a proper vent does not involve censoring your speech, but a workplace is not the place for uncensored talk), so I tried to call one of my friends. And another. Five calls later, I had reached no one. By that time, I wasn't even mad anymore about what I wanted to vent about; I thought it was hilarious that I couldn't reach anyone!

S.P. - That is exactly how I felt! With every voice mail, it just got funnier to me! I ended up getting a little giddy and making up a big silly conspiracy in my head. Like they were calling each other saying, 'A. is going to call; don't answer.'

Kay - I talk to you every day! Silly girl.

THat is totally frustrating, especially when you need (not just want) to talk.

oh, I hate that! However, I also hate the times when you have to call people but really don't want to talk to them and are hoping for their voicemail and you get them. I know, mean but that is how it is.

You're right, W.K.! It does go that way too! That might actually be worse!
