Hey, Good Looking. Whatcha Got Cooking?

Before I left for Nashville, B. came into the living room, looking all frustrated and depressed, and announced that the oven wasn't working. I think he was looking for some sympathy, but instead I barely held in my 'woo-hoo.' You see, I hate our stove. I've hated it for about, oh, 3 years, 10 months and 2 days. (AKA the day we moved in.)

First of all, it's gas and I hate gas stoves (or ranges as I've learned Home Depot calls them). I can never get the d*mn thing to light and if I try to turn the heat down to simmer something, it goes out. B. of course has no problems with it at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure he's thinking about getting the oven fixed.

I, on the other hand, am shopping. I'm really keen on this model here: an electric, flat-top, double oven wonder. It doesn't boil water in 90 seconds and it costs $1,700, but I think it could be the one.

Oh goodness - I LOVE gas stoves!! I could never go back to electric.

However, I am all for finding a stove that you like and IF you go electric I think that the flat top is the way to go. My parents have one and it is good - for electric.

Good luck!

P.S. I don't understand that boil in 90 seconds....how is that possible?!?!

we had a gas "range" at our old house and i rejoiced the day it died. we bought an electric range and i was much happier.

i always wanted a glass top range and finally got one 3 years ago when we moved into our new digs. i love it. except that it's white and i have to clean it w/ special glass top cleaner every other day just to get the stains off. ugh. that is my only complaint.

WK: there is a new Electrolux stove that boils in 90 seconds. Kelly Ripa (gag!) is in the ads.

I have heard that you have to clean a flat top with special cleaner and clean it often, but I think it would be easier to clean than to take off the grates and clean under them and under the stove top. $1700 is a lot of money to spend, but totally worth it if it makes you comfy in the kitchen.
