Where have all the Fans Gone?

Being baseball fans, B. and I like to catch as many Mud Hens games as we can. And since B. is from Buffalo, we always make a special effort to go when the Bisons are in town, which happens to be this week.

I thought waiting to get tickets at the gate last night was a little risky, but I'm trying to be more fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants-y. Luckily for us no one in Toledo goes to the Mud Hens games anymore so we got third row seats.

This should have made my night, but instead it ticked me off. Where are all the fans? Did a little chill in the air keep them away? Granted ballpark food costs an arm and a leg, but the tickets are cheaper than movie tickets.

I grew up in BFE so going to any event (hockey, baseball, dinner, concerts) was a big deal for me. It makes living in a town with baseball heaven. Does everyone else take it for granted?

Mudhens games are more of a social event at least until the playoffs. People don't like cold social events.

When I am trying to think of something to do, The Mud Hens are not on the top of my list. I don't like to go to downtown Toledo, I don't want to spend the money on this particular activity, and I agree with b. if I do go, I would rather go with a bunch of people and make it a social thing.
