A Taste of Culture

Last night I forced B. and our friends B. and M. to attend the local library's authors series, a first-time event for all of us.

I wanted to go for several reasons: I like to write; I like to read; I like to watch the TV show BONES, which was inspired by the author's books; and, well, honestly, being in the same room with Kathy Reichs puts me one person away from David Boreanaz.

I'm proud to say that I'm not the only one who enjoyed it - my friend B.'s review was somewhere between 'liked' and 'loved'. He and M. even thanked me for 'forcing' them to do something outside of their comfort zone.

The author was funny, informative and interesting, but even if she wasn't (or didn't know David), I'm still glad we went. It's probably about time we expanded our cultural horizons.
