Is Jewel Meant for Country Music?

Back in the day I could mangle Jewel's 'You Were Meant for Me' with the worst of them, but for some reason, I'm not singing along to her new country hit 'Stronger Woman'. The country music world is embracing her, but I just can't get into her in this genre.
What do you think?

(For the record, I do like her duet with Jason Michael Carroll a little better than this song.)

To be honest, I've never been a big fan of Jewel. I never really liked her music and then when I saw her as the opening act at a concert, she was acting pretentious and like she was exceptional. Total turnoff.

That being said, I listened to the song and I agree with you. It doesn't fit her. She should go back to the folk-y stuff she was doing before. She was trying waaaaay too hard when doing the pop music thing, and now it seems like she's trying too hard to seem 'country.' Stick to what you know, Jewel!

yeah, not so much.

However, I also don't think country music is really COUNTRY music these days, especially with the women....so she isn't too far off.
