Sign a Sista Up

I just want it to be known that if any of you ever signed me up for What Not to Wear ... I'd love you.

I know my wardrobe is lacking and would welcome any assistance I can get. Even if it means being humiliated on cable television.

I just went to the website to find out how to sign people up and look what I found:

Disclaimer: Applicant agrees to pay all federal, state, and local taxes, including income, use or sales taxes or any other governmental charges imposed on prizes, including the value of any goods or services received and cash gifts, if any, given to me or received by me by reason of my participation in the program and I release and indemnify producer from any liability therefor. I also authorize producer to deduct or withhold any such taxes or charges that require a payment prior to delivery of said prizes, cash or gifts.

You you think that means that you have to pay tax on all the clothes? I think it might. That may be a hefty sum.

I know my wardrobe is not from the latest magazine cover...and sometimes I am made fun of for dressing "like an old lady"...AND I would like to have new trendy clothes. BUT I am fearful, is this the show that makes you throw some of your own clothes away? I love my corduroy suit, my pink wool coat, and my doc martins that were purchased in 1996. I understand that these items most likely would not make the best dressed list, but I love them.

See, now I've never wanted to do that at all. Reason why? I am FAR too attached to some of my "ugly" clothes and I would NOT be willing to get rid of them.

Iris - great detective work!!! That's scary. "Here's a gift...that you have to pay for."

I love it that you're volunteering yourself to be on this show! Most people are pissed and shocked that they would get chosen. Hee hee!

I would love to be on this show. I'll pay tax on my stuff, just get me a really cool pair of jeans and a haircut by Nick and it's all worth it. Plus I bet having a cocktail with Stacy and Clinton would be a hoot.
