Don't Knock It

Two amazing things are happening tonight - I am going to see Garth Brooks 'in concert' ... and B. is going with me!

We'll start with the concert. Fathom Events organizes this cool thing called Big Screen Concerts where they telecast live concerts to movie theaters throughout the world. Garth will be performing in Kansas City tonight, but I'll be watching him in a movie theater in Maumee. Pretty cool if you ask me. This is a great way to see concerts that are sold out, too expensive or too far away.

Fathom Events also shows DVD concert releases on the big screen. My friend M. and I saw Keith Urban's Livin' Right Now DVD this way. While others were watching it on their little 27-inch flat screens, we were watching it in a movie theater, up close and loud!

There's nothing exciting on Fathom's list of upcoming events, but past concerts have included Linkin Park, Kiss, Gretchen Wilson, Rod Stewart, Depeche Mode, Korn, Widespread Panic, Beastie Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Brooks and Dunn, Usher, Aerosmith, Meatloaf, Godsmack, Phish, etc.

Second things second. B. doesn't like country music. Oh, he'll karaoke the occasional Confederate Railroad song and once I got him to see Montgomery Gentry and Hank Williams Jr., but those guys are more outlaw rock than country. We'll see how he takes to Garth tonight!

I've never seen a show like this, but I think it'd be pretty cool.
