That's a Toughie

Would you rather be President of the United States or win the Nobel Peace Prize?

Nobel Peace Prize.

I think Al Gore would lose part of his popularity if he ran for president. He has a good thing going right now and is getting his message out there. I think he should keep doing what he is doing!

I mean, come on. He is everywhere and is SO popular. He has had his heart in the environment for a long time and I think if you are passionate about that he should stay with it! He will make more of a difference....ecspecially once we get a democrat in office who can really support him.

However, that is not saying he wouldn't do a great job...I think he would! I just think he is doing better with what he is working on at the moment!

Win the Nobel Peace Prize. Hands down.

I wouldn't be comfortable with the fate of our country in my small, unprepared, unknowledgable hands.

I'm with the first two, NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. I'd much rather be commended for my hard work at something that be in charge of "everything."

Hmm. I was going to say Nobel Peace Prize, but I expected people to say president.

As far as Gore goes, I voted for him in 2000 and I think he would have done a good job. But, I now think this is a good case of everything happens for a reason. I think he's affected more change in this area than he may have been able to as president.

I agree with you, A, that he has affected more change doing his whole environmental speel, but it's got me to thinking that perhaps he could have used the presidency as a vehicle for MORE change. He'd have a huge platform and would be heard, on the environment and many more issues. I wonder if he got into the environmental stuff BECAUSE he didn't win the election, or, if he would have been into it while he was in office. Was this a passion of his while he was v.p.? Either way, I'd vote for him if he ran in 2008.

My first thought was Nobel peace prize. BUT the president can influence many areas, so it really is a tough call. At this point in my life, prob not president.
