In the Garden of Eden

(Or something like that.)

Blender is running a list of worst lyricists in its November issue. Who holds the #1 spot? Sting. I didn't expect that.

Rush drummer Neil Peart, Creed front man Scott Stapp, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and soft-rocker Dan Fogelberg round out the top 5.

We could talk all day about bad lyrics and misheard lyrics, instead, let's talk about our favorite lyrics. I'll go first.

I love just about every line in Pearl Jam's Wishlist:
  • I wish I was a neutron bomb, for once I could go off.
  • I wish I was a messenger and all the news was good.
  • I wish I was the souvenir you kept your house key on.
I also think this line from Kevin Sharp's Nobody Knows is a pretty good description of a broken heart:
  • Like a jigsaw puzzle, it's been torn all apart.
Your turn.
