Hangin' Up the Ol' Jersey

That's it, co-ed softball fans, the season is over. Done. Caput. Finito. We made it to the first round of the tournament, but lost in extra innings last night to our arch nemeses. Boo.

I learned a lot this season, namely that playing softball is not as enjoyable as I remembered it from high school. I probably put too much pressure on myself, but as much as I was looking forward to the season, I didn't look forward to individual games with as much enthusiasm.

That said, I might be up for the fall league. And I might play again next summer. But if I do, I will condition before the season starts and I will try to have a little more fun when I'm playing. Or, I could designate myself official scorekeeper. That should take some of the pressure off, because while I couldn't bat worth a crap, I do know the name of every person on my team, which could come in handy when I'm drawing lines on little fields in the scorebook.

Maybe we should not only condition, but also practice our cheers.
Smurfy!
