Soundtrack of My Life

Awhile back, my friend J. (Wrestling Kitties) challenged her blog readers to come up with the soundtrack to their lives. I immediately jumped to the task, but it's taken awhile because there are a lot of ways to interpret this challenge.

For example, should the soundtrack include songs that are representational of your life or that actually played a part in your life? Should the songs be in chronological order by release or by their time in your life?

I decided my soundtrack should be comprised of songs that make me think of sections of my life. If I were to sit back and watch my life, these songs would be playing in the background because they really were playing during my life, not necessarily because they represent feelings or emotions or events. Got it? Here goes:
  1. Family Tradition – Hank Williams Jr.
  2. Swingin’ – John Anderson
  3. Iko Iko – Belle Stars
  4. Devil Went Down to Georgia – Charlie Daniels
  5. Tennessee Flat Top Box – Rosanne Cash
  6. Pop Goes the World – Men Without Hats
  7. Red Red Wine – UB40
  8. Here I Go Again – White Snake
  9. More than Words – Extreme
  10. I Saw the Light – Wynonna Judd
  11. Life is a Highway – Tom Cochrane
  12. Wild Horses – Rolling Stones
  13. Fishing in the Dark – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
  14. Cotton-Eyed Joe – Rednex
  15. The Freshman – The Verve Pipe
  16. That Summer – Garth Brooks
  17. I Like to Move It – Reel to Reel
  18. Life’s Been Good – Joe Walsh
  19. Water’s Edge – Seven Mary Three
  20. Wish List – Pearl Jam

You know, with everything going on recently I had completly forgot about this!!! I am SO glad you posted this! I am finalizing mine now and putting it up in the next couple days!!! Seeing your list has totally made my day!!!

I love looking back at songs and thinking about where we were or what they remind us of!!

What a great list!! (Red Red Wine, the song we probably have all sang on Kareoke!!) Great songs!!

Difficult... Does the list have to be 20 songs or less OR can my soundtrack be like "Malt Shop Favorites" and have 10 full CDs? For sure these would be on my list:
American Pie
Blueberry Hill
Here I go Again
Strawberry Wine
Total Eclipse of the Heart
Runaway Train
I think we're alone (by Tiffany of course)
Baker's Street
Man in the Mirror
Big Butts (Sir-Mix-o-lot)
Sugar Mountain
Say you, say me
Hey Jealousy
True Colors
Danny's Song

Man...I just rattled those off. Hope I get more than 20 songs. Great idea and fun! And, I think it gives you a little insight to who someone is.

I like your list. I find it nearly impossible not to do the air-violin to "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."
