I'm Finally American

Until yesterday, I had never eaten a corndog.

Yes, really, it's true. In school, I even went out of my way to avoid them by packing my lunch. Or skipping lunch altogether. I'm not sure why, but I believe it's because I'm not a huge fan of cornbread and thought 'corn'dogs were wrapped in 'corn'bread. I now know it's a slightly different concoction.

Corndogs came up in discussion at work the other day (don't ask me how; I don't know) and since then, I've been wanting to try one. I was curious mostly because my coworkers, husband and two friends were flabbergasted (yes, flabbergasted) that I had never had one. If they had been mildly surprised, I don't think I would have wanted to try one, but since they were shocked, in disbelief, etc., I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

Now that I've tried one, I'm still not sure I know. I didn't love it. Didn't hate it. Would eat one again if it was placed before me, but probably wouldn't order or crave one.

Do you like corndogs? Why or why not?

Yes, I love them. Always have, always will. You should try mini corn dogs. They may change your mind. Frickers has good ones as does BW3.

Glad that you tried them, sorry to hear they didn't live up to the hype.

I love them! With a little mustard - delicious!

I am happy you tried one but I can understand not wanting to try things like this. My friend C. makes fun of me b/c I have never tried a Big Mac (nor do I care too), don't like pie or danishes, and I have never tried grape pop (I can't get past the smell). Apparently in his mind these are all things that make you an American!

Love love love corn dogs. Have to dip a little in mustard and a little in ketchup. There is nothing about a corn dog that I don't like. I also like "pigs in a blanket"--not hot dogs in crescent rolls, although I do enjoy those as well, sausage links inside a pancake.
I suppose there are not too many foods that I don't like.
(Big Macs are not all they are cracked up to be and fruit flavored pop is disgusting!)

Corn dogs are awesome. I agree with M that the mini ones at Frickers and B-dubs are awesome.

Oh, they're a gift from heaven. I'm a fan of the morningstar soy ones. I challenge you to try one - they're fantastic.
