Throwin' Caution to the Wind

If you've known me for long, you're probably well aware that I'm a list maker. And a planner. And I'm a little anal about it.

I like to know what I'm doing when, where, with who and how in advance. That's why B. and I's spur-of-the-moment trip to Cincinnati Sunday is way out of character.

The ball started rolling Saturday when B. said the Indians were playing Cincinnati Sunday. This is a fun rivalry between me and my friend W. and B. and his friend B. Without even thinking (or planning a week in advance), I said let's go. So we did!

W. and her family we even able to join us last minute!

The weather was great, the company was great, the stadium was cool, the game was long (12 innings) and the Indians didn't win, but it was a great day capped off by this fun coincidence:

When B. and I first moved in together, we lived in a house - remembered fondly as 624 - with two friends: M. and B. Sunday, B. texted M. - an Indians fan - and B. - a Reds fan - to tell them we were at the game.

M. wrote back first - he was at the game too! Almost directly across the stadium from us. Around the 7th inning, B. texted back and said he too was at the game, almost directly below us! What are the chances that the 'ol 624 crew would all be at the same game together, but not together?!

The lesson: I don't always need to plan my days in advance; sometimes winging it is pretty cool.

Eh-hem, if you're gonna call me a turd, at least identify yourself.
