Flip A Coin

For the first time in years, I am not feeling American Idol. I haven't all season, but I don't know why. I don't know if I'm tired of the show in general. If the contestants just didn't do it for me this year. Or if the judges (or Ryan Seacrest) have finally driven me batty.

All I do know is that this time last year, I was, while still sad over the early elimination of Chris, cheering Katharine on. And this time two years ago, I was flip-flopping between Bo and Carrie with the best of them.

This year, though, I don't really care who wins. I think it'd probably be best for Blake if he didn't win (and I can now see how it was probably better for Chris that he didn't win last year). I think Jordin is amazing. I think Blake is entertaining. I probably wouldn't buy either of their CDs, though.

So, I'm not going to host an American Idol finale party (not that I ever have before) and I'm not going to loudly cheer for Blake or Jordin this week. Instead, I'm going to flip a coin to pick a winner and read a book during the first 58 minutes of the finale. (What? It's not like I'm going to miss anything. Have you noticed how much fluff they've shoved into their shows this year?)

I 100% agree with you. I am NOT interested in this show at all this year. There has been no one that I have loved. There were some good singers, but no one with a spark that really made me like them. I have watched most of this season on fastforward and only watched maybe a total of 8 minutes last night.

I have to say that I HATE (HATE) that song they do at the end...."their song". ick! That song is not at all suited for Blake and I didn't even care to listen to Jordan sing it. I will once again record the show tonight, fastforward to the very end, see who won (like it matters), and move on with my life. Blech - what a crappy AI season!
