Settling In

I’ve been at my new job for 3 1/2 weeks now. In some ways, it feels like I’ve been here for 3 1/2 months; in others, 3 1/2 hours; but in all ways, I’m glad I’m here.

I have been making some interesting (to me) observations this past month and I thought it’d be fun to share them.

Here
Getting onto 75 North at night stinks
Parking almost right outside my door (!)
Outside parking
No elevators (!)
Public restrooms
Macs
No window in my office
Subway in the cafeteria (!)
Beaners in the cafeteria (!)
Cafeteria is two feet from my door (!)
Cafeteria is closed
I can burn CDs (!)
Christmas break (!)
Leaving at 4:30 on Fridays (!)
Great people I’m glad to be getting to know (!)

There
Getting onto 75 North at night stunk
Parking on the 6th floor of a parking garage
Covered parking and entrance to building (!)
Elevators (and poor elevator etiquette)
Quasi-private restrooms with foot flushers (!)
PCs (!)
Window on the 15th floor (!)
Subway around the corner
Beaners across the street
K. could burn CDs for me
I knew what the h*ll I was doing (!)
Coming in at 8:30 (!)
Great people I miss (!)
